How long will it take to produce my highlight video?
The Production time of your video may take anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks. The longer the video is in length, the longer it will take to produce. The production time is also based on how many projects we are currently working on for other clients. Power Play Films operates on a first come first served basis, this means that when you place your order with us we will complete your video before moving on to another project for a client that orders their video after you. Our staff strives to achieve the fastest turnaround time while maintaining excellent video quality. Please feel free to CONTACT US before placing your order to obtain a more definitive production time quote.
Do I have to use music in my highlight video?
No. We can keep the normal background sounds intact without the use of any music if you'd like.
Can I use my own music instead of using the music provided by Power Play Films?
No. If you wish to incorporate music into your video you must use the music provided by Power Play Films. The use of popular music from well known artists (such as Britney Spears for example) is protected under copyright law. Distributing or sharing copyrighted material with others (including college coaches) is considered copyright infringement and is highly illegal. When you purchase a CD from your favorite artist they receive a percentage of your purchase that is also known as a "royalty", sharing their music with others prevents the artist from receiving their due royalties and could possibly result in a lawsuit. Power Play Films does not want to be responsible for any of our clients being sued, therefore we have purchased the rights to some great royalty-free music to use in your production.
Where are you located?
Power Play Films is located in Machesney Park, Illinois. However, we produce videos all over the country. If you are located near the Loves Park, Rockford or Chicago area and would like to set up an appointment please CONTACT US and we will be more than pleased to meet with you. If you live further away or do not have the time to set up a meeting, you may easily place your order online.
I have 10 games on DVD, can you go through them and choose my best plays for me?
No. When producing a highlight video you must go through your own raw game DVD's and select a series of short clips (also known as "Highlights") that showcase your strongest athletic abilities. A total duration of about 15 to 20 minutes is ideal for a highlight video. The first thing that you would need to do is to go through your raw DVD's and find the plays that you would like to include in your video, to accomplish this you would write on a piece of paper the time shown on the counter of your dvd player at the beginning of each play (please use an actual DVD player and NOT a computer to record your starting time. DVD player counters are universal in speed while some computer counters may vary in speed thus making it difficult for us to find your content exactly where it begins) then copy the starting times of your highlights onto your order form in the order that you wish for them to appear in your video.
Can I use video footage from multiple games?
Yes. You may use footage from as many games as you wish as long as the amount of clips (or plays) that you would like to use fall within the maximum amount of clips that you are allowed to use for the package that you have ordered. For instance, if you ordered our "Bronze Package" (which allows you to use 6 to 15 clips) and you had 15 games on DVD, you could take the 1 best play from each game if you'd like just as long as you stay within the 15 clip limit for this package. We encourage you to take footage from multiple games to show college coaches that you are consistent game after game. We have produced many videos for high school athletes and are very familiar with what college coaches are looking for in a highlight video.
Do you accept footage that is on mini dv and vhs tapes?
No. We DO NOT accept VHS or Mini DV tapes, also known as DVC (Digital Video Cassette). This type of media slows our production time down considerably to triple the normal time it would take versus that of extracting footage from Dvd's, resulting in higher prices. To keep our prices low, we now only accept footage on Dvd's. If your game footage is on this type of media, you must transfer your footage from your tapes to a standard Dvd before submitting your footage to us. Please refer to your camcorder's owner's manual to learn how to accomplish the transfer of your footage to Dvd or CLICK HERE to visit a website that will give you step by step instructions.
Will I be able to preview my video online before the actual dvd is shipped?
Yes. Our videos are of the highest professional quality, we will guide and work with you every step of the way to ensure that your video is exactly to your specifications. Once the production of your video has been completed we will send you a preview of your video online to review for accuracy and quality before the final draft of the video is finalized to dvd and shipped.
Can some of my highlight footage be shown in slow-motion?
Yes. The slow motion aspect makes some plays look even better! With our level of experience, we can pick and choose which clips would look best in slow motion or you can decide for yourself.
The package that I ordered only comes with 5 DVD's and I need 20 DVD's, can I order the extra 15 DVD's separately?
Yes. You may order additional DVD's when you place you initial order or anytime after if you'd like. We archive your video files for 2 years, so you can re-order additional DVD's when needed. Each additional DVD costs $6.95 per dvd and features a laser etched face (we do not use adhesive type labels) and is packaged in white envelope with clear cellophane window, we also offer full color standard sized dvd cases upon request and for an additional charge.
Do you go to games and video tape players?
No. We only offer services that allow us to take your pre-existing footage and edit it to DVD.
I have several photos that I really like, can you add some photos in between some of my plays or make a photo gallery page on my DVD?
Yes. We do require at least 1 photo of you in uniform to include in your video, but you may incorporate up to 10 more photos into your video if you'd like at no additional charge.
Can I use newspaper clippings in my video?
Yes. Newspaper clippings look great in highlight videos and they provide college coaches with more impartial info about you.
